We’re looking for thoughtful and empathetic volunteers to make a difference to people with life limiting illnesses in Molesey and surrounding area by guiding them through a process of thinking about their choices and wishes for the end of their life.
Volunteers will be equipped with the expertise of Princess Alice Hospice and given ongoing support from the Community Matrons at the East Elmbridge Community Hub so that for 4-6 weeks they can meet weekly with the person they’ve been matched with and encourage them to consider what their priorities are and any areas they might not have thought about. The volunteer will facilitate discussions in the hopes of enabling them to make important decisions and have conversations with their families and the medical professionals who care for them.
This role is based from Molesey Community Hospital and, due to the nature of the matching process, would appeal to volunteers looking for a meaningful and challenging role with flexibility around other commitments.
Training will be held at Princess Alice Hospice on 12th April from 1.00 – 5.30pm and in Molesey (venue tbc) on 19th and 26th April from 9.30 – 12.30. For more information please contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
