Local resident and historian Jill Sanders of Friends of Hurst Park will be running an amazing history walk down the towpath.
“The Thames Path from the Lock to Platt’s Eyot, with Molesey on the Surrey bank and Hampton in Middlesex, is a walk through time. Much exists here, still, from the Age of the Enlightenment with architecture, gardens and an Arcadian landscape. Moulsey Hurst was once Lammas land, held in common – and very much used for common activities like the Cockney Derby. We will walk the towpath in the footsteps of a fascinating history.”
It sounds wonderful!
Assemble at Molesey Lock in plenty of time.
(If it’s raining in the evening of Friday 13th April, then the walk will be Saturday 14th at 11am)
This event is now full – Thanks again to Jill for running this fantastic walk.
